Officer Pooch is a 1941 MGM cartoon directed by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera.
Summary[]
Officer Pooch is called out to rescue a kitten that is repeatedly chased up telephone poles and trees by an aggressive little dog.
Plot[]
Officer Pooch, the local ice cream-swilling cop on the beat, attempts to rescue a kitten stuck atop a utility pole while a stray mutt hampers his attempts in an effort to get the kitten. By the time he's shooed the mutt away, the kitten has jumped to a tree. His efforts to climb the tree anger a woodpecker. The kitten is finally rescued, but Pooch is left far worse for the effort.
